A study to identify modifiable risk factors of late unplanned readmissions for elderly with community-acquired pneumonia is presented. The major findings were swallowing dysfunction, current smoking, the use of tranquilizers, and lower activity of daily livings (ADL) scores as significant factors linked to recurrent pneumonia.
