Pritikin on trial

Sy Okner participated in the 13-day program at the Pritikin Longevity Center. The program combines the Pritikin diet with exercise therapy to achieve a healthier cardiovascular system. The Pritikin diet features meals low in fat, high in carbohydrates and fiber and no sugar, salt, alcohol or caffeine.

A resistance training program can be highly beneficial to elderly people. It can help prevents hypertension, diabetes, heart disease and osteoporosis. It does not require expensive equipment and may take up only thirty minutes per session, which is done twice a week.
