Repetition priming in normal aging and Alzheimer's disease: a review of findings and theories
Article Abstract:
Repetition priming is a kind of implicit memory that has initially been believed to be immune to the effects of aging and greatly reduced in Alzheimer's disease (AD), which is characterized by mild to severe changes in explicit memory. However, these initial findings have become less clear as more studies were conducted. Moreover, they were found to be misleading in the case of AD. The variation in priming abilities that occurs with normal aging and AD is attributed to three factors, namely, measurement issues, individual differences among participants and dissociable processes.

WAIS-R factor structure in Alzheimer's disease patients: a comparison of alternative models and an assessment of their generalizability
Article Abstract:
The WAIS-R is often used in neuropsychological evaluations of individuals with probable Alzheimer's disease (AD), but its factor structure in this population is unknown. The results of theories and past research have favored the 3-factor model in which Digit Symbol loads on Perceptual Organization rather than Freedom From Distractibility.
