Article Abstract:
The "Alzheimerization" of dementia research is discussed . A study on survival to late-stage dementia in Dutch nursing home patients touches on important issues related to clinical diagnosis of dem entia. Future studies should confirm diagnoses based on stages established by H. Braak et al. Not all Alzheimer's patients are demented.
