The paradox of ageing with developmental disabilities: increasing needs, declining resources
Article Abstract:
The population of persons with developmental disabilities is now ageing, and they face the hazardous problem of limited internal resources and external support. Important requirements to support this emergent population include training of gerontologists and specialist, revision in the education and training of persons with developmental disabilities, and reexamination of current policies and programs concerning the same.

Chronic physical conditions and aging: Is mental health a potential protective factor?
Article Abstract:
The hypotheses that complete mental health is a protective factor against, while mental illness is a risk factor for chronic conditions with age are investigated. It was found that completely mentally healthy adults at all ages reported fewer chronic conditions showing that it may act as a protective factor in aging.

Aging mothers and daughters: Relationship changes over time
Article Abstract:
Two important concepts that influence aging mothers' and daughters' management of a health crisis are discussed. The two concepts 'Internalizing Female Lineage' and 'Evolving Matriarchs' facilitate understanding of the complexities of the mother-daughter relationship over time.
