What predicts influenza vaccination status in older Americans over several years?

Article Abstract:

Repeat influenza vaccinations bring down the mortality rates considerably in elderly, as influenza is one of the leading causes of death in Americans aged above 65 years. Despite this fact, many elderly discontinue with their influenza vaccinations. The factors influencing their decision to discontinue with vaccination are discussed.

A randomized trial of exercise programs among older individuals living in two long-term care facilities: the FallsFREE program

Article Abstract:

Research suggests that exercise programs for the elderly may need to be tailored to meet individual needs in order to successfully prevent accidents involving falls. Data were obtained from subjects who averaged 84 years of age, and did not rely on ambulatory assistance devices such as walkers.

Barriers to pneumococcal and influenza vaccination in older community-dwelling adults (2000-2001)

Article Abstract:

A study to identify facilitators of and barriers to vaccination in patients from a range of socioeconomic levels is given. The results propose that offering influenza and pnuemococcal vaccines at the same time would ensure that adults are fully vaccinated
