Another look at the impact of information presentation format

Article Abstract:

The information acquisition process has been shown to be highly dependent on the manner in which information is presented by earlier researchers. Information acquisition in a number of variations of the information display board (IDB) format is examined here, among which is an interactive computer variation. It is shown that the amount of information acquired and the way in which it is acquired depends on the presentation format, suggesting that caution should be exercised when the results of previous work are generalized to new information search environments.

Critical comments on applying covariance structure modeling

Article Abstract:

Researchers use covariance structure modeling, or structural equation or causal modeling, to develop measurements and theoretical models. However, the use of covariance structure modeling in measurements and theoretical models is not conducive to scientific progress. Covariance structure modeling can be improved through specific parameter estimates, reasonable assumptions, better measures and better design.
