Antecedents of organizational commitment across occupational groups: a meta-analysis
Article Abstract:
Two models describing the different antecedents of organizational commitment (OC) were examined to show that OC correlates differently with varying antecedents depending on the occupational group. A meta-analysis was conducted of two models, a member model of personal variables and an organization model of occupational, structural and role related variables amongst blue collar workers and professional and non-professional white collar workers. Personal antecedents were found to be more forceful among nonprofessional white collar and blue collar workers, while fewer occupational distinctions were observed in the organization model.

Dispositional and contextual determinants of organizational citizenship behavior
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine whether dispositional factors such as Equity Sensitivity, Agreeableness and Conscientiousness can explain the link between contextual work attitudes and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). A sample of 402 professional and administrative employees from a hospital in south central US was studied. Results from usefulness analysis indicated that contextual work attitudes can predict most forms of OCB, although in the Generalized Compliance form dispositional variables were the effective predictors of OCB.

The dimensions of organizational commitment
Article Abstract:
There are two dimensions of organizational commitment. The passive dimension involves loyalty to the organization. The active dimension involves identification with and willingness to act for the benefit of the organization.
