Congestion tolling and urban spatial structure
Article Abstract:
An analysis of congestion tolling in a bottleneck model show that optimal congestion tolling has no effect on trip price, especially under conditions that exclude toll-revenue redistribution. This is due to the efficiency gains achieved under the optimal congestion tolling policy which is equal to the total revenue collected. This condition exists at any urban spatial structure, negating previous findings that congestion tolling leads to a spatial concentration of economic activity.

In search of empirical evidence that links rent and user cost
Article Abstract:
An empirical analysis is conducted between rent and user cost using an econometric model which represents both the demand for rental housing services and rental housing facilities. Generally, the results agree with theoretical expectations. Rent is directly proportional to user cost although only 30% of the initial effect is perceived within ten years of a user cost shock. Unexpectedly, this reaction falls short of the anticipated response by the standard user cost model.

Rent control, mismatch costs and search efficiency
Article Abstract:
Research applying a monopolistically competitive model of the rental housing market is presented. It is shown that mild rent control can improve on the uncontrolled market, while strict rent control can produce large mismatch costs.
