Current foresight activities in Central Europe
Article Abstract:
The Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Hungary are the central European countries which have embarked on technology foresight studies on the research areas and developing generic technologies which have the greatest socio-economic potentials. The task of the foresight studies can be summarized as the identification and realization of the best possible future scenarios in science and development. Government and public sector entities have realized that they effectively determine the shape of the future by actively participating in technology foresight studies.

Poland wants SORM-2
Article Abstract:
The Polish Ministry for Internal Affairs and Administration has asked for legislation requiring all communications providers to include technology that would allow the government to wiretap and decode all information. Not only is this an invasion of privacy, it also opens up data to theft and abuse.
