Environmental Behavior in Bangkok, Thailand: A Portrait of Attitudes, Values, and Behavior(*)
Article Abstract:
Research shows that Bangkok's environmental practices may be insufficient to avoid ecological degradation and maintain public health. While many citizens properly dispose of waste in municipal bins and are aware of environmental goals, the city's slums pose a significant threat to health and living conditions. Most have open sewers, contaminating the water supply and causing illness. The attitudes and behaviors of the citizens in Bangkok are among the main challenges that remain to improving the city's environment.
