Distrust in genetically altered foods
Article Abstract:
The introduction of US genetically-engineered agricultural products has caused concern among many European consumers. Although most of the consumers' concerns are scientifically baseless, continued distrust over genetically-altered products could adversely affect trade between the US and Europe. To avert a deterioration of bilateral trade, the EC must adopt procedures to ensure the integrity and safety of genetically-engineered agricultural products.
