Saving the dream for all; a tribute to A. Leon Higginbotham, Jr
Article Abstract:
Judge A. Leon Higginbotham, Jr., became at age 36 the youngest African American to rise to the federal bench and won many honors as well as membership in associations such as the NAACP and the National Bar Ass'n. The judge declined awards from organizations not reflecting racial, ethnic and gender pluralism. Compassion was what distinguished Higginbotham, always remembering where he came from.
