Forecasting fertility: an application of time series methods to parameterized model schedules
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine age profiles for fertility forecasting. The study focuses on the application of parameterized model schedules and considers time-series parameter models for age specific rate determination. It is shown that the time series parameter models describe temporal age profile patterns which can be used to forecast future vital rate profiles. The models generate the historical trends of fertility behavior.
