Lesbian and gay prospective adoptive parents: the legal battle
Article Abstract:
Lesbians and gays face barriers to fair consideration as prospective adoptive parents. The American Bar Association endorsed a resolution against the use of sexual orientation as a bar to adoption. However, Florida and New Hampshire currently bar gays from adopting, and several other states are considering such laws. Social science research shows that sexual orientation is irrelevant to parental ability. Each child is entitled to the adoption arrangement that is in that child's best interest.

From bastardy to cloning: adaptations of legal thought for unorthodox reproduction
Article Abstract:
New reproductive technologies that enable infertile couples to have offspring raise a host of legal issues. These issues arise as the technologies challenge traditional ideas regarding illegitimacy and adoption. The most comprehensive approach to these issues would be a legal standard that defines certain acts by adults as establishing a parent-child relationship as well as the rights and responsibilities that flow from that relationship.
