Determinants of the repartitioning of property rights between the government and state enterprises
Article Abstract:
The role the Chinese government plays in repartitioning the property rights in its state-owned enterprises depends on a number of variables. Variables include the risk of the business, the efficiency of production, the size of the business and the profitability of the business. During the 1980s, the Chinese government began to shift responsibility for decision-making from state bureaucrats to managers of the state-owned enterprises.

Poverty, Policies, and Deforestation: The Case of Mexico(*)
Article Abstract:
Mexico can halt the benefits of deforestation by eliminating government subsidies within the agricultural sector. Decreasing economic benefits and increasing deforestation costs can also eliminate deforestation. Domestic wood manufacturing subsidies and wood import restrictions will not eliminate deforestation. Increasing agricultural technology and increasing non-agricultural employment can also help eliminate deforestation.
