Effective training
Article Abstract:
Many public housing authorities (PHAs) fail to get the full value out of their computer systems due to a neglect of training by the PHAs themselves and by their software contractors. PHAs should analyze their training needs in order to develop a training requirements plan. The evaluation of training should consider whether the training provided has covered the needs identified by the requirements plan, whether the training provides information for employees to reach expected levels of job skills, and whether the training is tailored for employees' needs and takes into account differences in their levels of learning. Supplemental training that is available to PHAs include videotape courses, computer-based training packages, and training data bases.
