Interests and institutions in skilled migration: Comparing flows in the IT and nursing sectors in the U.S.
Article Abstract:
An argument is presented that the U.S. immigration policy reflects more an efficient political process than an efficient economic competition for skills. The flows of imported IT and nursing industry labor are examined, declaring that the Byzantine U.S. immigration system attained has created a plenitude of peculiar migration channels sustained by vested client interests.

The source, structure, and stability of control over Japan's financial sector
Article Abstract:
This study examines the source and structure of control over the Japanese financial sector and how patterns of ownership have changed over time by drawing upon literature on intercorporate networks in Japan and the U.S. Results show that the patterns of ownership ties are concentrated and graded with small, cohesive set of financial institutions dominating them.
