Present at the biotechnological revolution: transformation of technological identity for a large incumbent pharmaceutical firm
Article Abstract:
A study presents quantitative evidences of incumbent pharmaceutical firms' market stability in the presence of external technological discontinuity. It also evaluates the many factors affecting firms' transformation of technological identity. Results reveal incumbent firms' championing their technological transformation by patenting and involving top scientific experts in biotechnology.
