Psychoanalysis and State Regulation: A conference report on the international conference organized by the College of Psychoanalysts - UK

Article Abstract:

The background leading to the international conference on Psychoanalysis and State Regulation that was organized by The College of Psychoanalysts - UK and the presentations made by psychoanalysts from many different countries regarding the relationship between psychoanalysis and the state in their countries is described. The parallel workshops held during the conference and the papers at the conference that gave rise to a lot of controversy are reviewed.

Psychoanalysis and interraciality: asking different questions

Article Abstract:

Questions are raised against psychoanalytic responses to interracial relationships and subjectivity. It is argued that much psychoanalytic discussion on interraciality is shaped by denial and repression of race and fears of miscegenation and normative assumptions about the superiority of endogamy.
