Rhetoric, science, and philosophy
Article Abstract:
The perceived conflict between rhetoric and science as a means of searching for truth can be traced to the distinct domains for which they are applied. While science, indeed, presents objective and demonstrative evidence for its propositions, it is not applicable to all modes of living. In the case of a lawsuit, for instance, a judge has to weigh varied rationales presented to him by dissident parties. Not only must the speakers be logical, they must also be able to demonstrate sufficient credibility. Logic and rhetoric far from being incompatible, work interdependently in uncovering truth.

On experimental discourse in economics
Article Abstract:
Experimental economics is viewed from a metatheoretical perspective to examine its similarities and differences with experimental discourses in the natural sciences. The interpretative devices used by natural scientists and experimental economists were also studied. The results showed that there were similarities in accounts of experimentation. However, experimental economists were more cautious than the natural scientists in labeling their counterparts' positions as tainted by social and personal factors.
