SIECUS position statements on human sexuality, sexual health and sexuality education and information 1995-96
Article Abstract:
The SIECUS Board of Directors updated position statements on the issues of human sexuality, sexual health, and sexual education and information at its September 1995 meeting. The role of religion and media on sexuality is specified. The position on sexual orientation and exploitation, gender equity, and female genital mutilation is given. Sexuality of the aging and the disabled, masturbation, and sexual health care are also addressed. Statements on adolescent sexual health and its relation to contraception, abortion, and HIV/AIDS are also given.

SIECUS is pioneering a worldwide sexuality education effort
Article Abstract:
SIECUS is dedicated to promoting sexual health and AIDS prevention throughout the world. It is working with service agencies in specific countries to help them in organizing and improving the quality of sexuality education. SIECUS has also formed an international centre of sexuality information and education resources and has laid the foundation for an Internet network for sexual health and education professionals. The network will help professionals exchange and share information regarding sexuality education.

Nigerian guidelines for sexuality education introduced at ceremony in Lagos
Article Abstract:
Official publication of guidelines for sexuality education in Nigeria in 1996 has encouraged the inclusion of sexuality education in current health programs in schools and youth groups. Various non-governmental organizations participated in the workshop and contributed to the development of the guidelines. The Task Force, involved in formulating the final guidelines, has helped to reduce regulatory barriers and enhance community support for youth services in Nigeria.
