Sociology as a source of anomaly in Thomas Kuhn's system of science
Article Abstract:
Thomas Kuhn's work on science and society has had a major impact on sociologists, but there are problems with his approach. His notion of an organic community being involved in scientific developments is flawed, rather, such developments tend to arise from the activities of specialists and lay people. The idea of a scientific community itself is dubious, and since Kuhn stressed the notion of community in his arguments, his ideas have to be questioned.

Creative research; description of some signposts to unknown areas
Article Abstract:
Four important lessons can serve as signposts to finding scientific research problems which could engage creativity. One lesson is to find theoretical controversies. Another lesson is to consider apparently extraneous phenomena. One should also be open to chance discoveries, and welcome unpredicted results. Finally, exceptions can be sought rather than dismissed or described as due to extenuating circumstances.
