Article Abstract:
The mobile communication is a retrogressive step, returning humans to more immediate, unalienated form of communication that relies heavily on the visual and the oral via MMS messages and voice calls. The technology is suggestive of a future, which promises to re-establish, within the life of postmodern society, some of the features formerly enjoyed by genuine local communities.

People are turning away from the library catalog towards other information sources such as Google as means of discovering and accessing information ever since the electronic publication of journals. A recent report states that it is necessary to integrate library catalogs with web-based search tools to increase the visibility of the holdings of libraries.
