Tomorrow's world: Doom or brilliant ascent?
Article Abstract:
The "Future of Humanity" and that of whole Planet Earth was studied by the City of the Future (COF or Ecumenopolis) Research Project of the Athens Center of Ekistics (ACE) to understand whether the humanity is heading towards a permanent safe world or towards the brink of disintegration and extermination. The study revealed that the cumulative effect of many causes in ominous synergy showed an overall danger curve intensifying quickly during the next two decades and reached the high point of total destruction in about three decades from present day and to avoid this a revolution in thinking, priorities, in outlook, in policies and programs has to be done.

The road to Ecumenopolis
Article Abstract:
The main conclusions of the City of the Future research project of the Athens Center of Ekistics are discussed. Ecumenopolis was the brainchild of the late C.A. Doxiadis who proposed it in 1959 to a group of foreign experts and to his Greek colleagues. He would later summarize all his thoughts about Ecumenopolis into a 200-page report which would be used later as a reference by other experts. These experts would visit countries around the world to study the validity of his ideas.
