Why the paraphilias? Domesticating strange sex

Article Abstract:

This article examines the psychological processes involved in the development of paraphilias such as fetishism or pedophilia. Studies indicate that these psychosexual disorders are extremely difficult to eradicate once established and are often related to an interrupted sexual experience at an early age and subsequent sexual frustration.

Social structure and sex-role choices among children in four cultures

Article Abstract:

A four-culture study has been conducted on children aged 3 to 9, with respect to proclivities toward same-sex or different-sex roles. It has been observed that the Logoli of Kenya and Newars of Nepal are structured patricentrically whereas the Black Carib of Belize and the American Samoans are not structured patricentrally.

Sonority and climate in a world sample of languages: findings and prospects

Article Abstract:

The indigenous languages of tropical and subtropical climates in contrast to the languages spoken in temperature and cold zones manifested high levels of sonority in a world sample (N=60). A conceptual model is developed where there are well-known correlations between climate and somatic variables.
