Farmworkers as "different": a matter of difference or indifference?
Article Abstract:
Farmworkers have been described as different from other occupational groups based on various factors such as culture, race, and language. However, this difference argument is working against them in the area of health services. First, research and data on farmworkers must be collected. Assumptions about farmworkers and imprecise use of language describing farm work has led to generalizations in the absence of facts. Secondly, health care programs for occupations that are similar to farm work should be made available to farmworkers.

Ministry to migrant farmworkers in New York state
Article Abstract:
A statewide focus on ministry to migrant farmworkers to New York state needs to be developed to coordinate the efforts of sectors working to help this group. While primarily aiming to fill the spiritual needs of these migrant, seasonal farmworkers, a statewide focus would better deal with the issues relevant to this marginalized sector, including health care, immigration problems, disability benefits, unemployment insurance, housing, collective bargaining, among others.
