Japanese teens as producers of street fashion

Article Abstract:

A macro-sociological analysis of Japanese street fashion and a micro-interactionist analysis of teen consumers who form various subcultures are presented. The results of the analysis show that fashion is no longer controlled or guided by professionally trained designers, but it is the teens who have become the producers of fashion.

What do older women and men want? Gender differences in the 'lived experience' of ageing

Article Abstract:

A study focuses on the gender differences on various indicators of quality of life, especially in relation to life satisfaction, happiness and morale during the ageing period. The implications of these data from the 'lived experiences' of ageing on sociological research and public policy are discussed.
