RESORT WORKERS: ADAPTATIONS IN THE LEISURE-WORK NEXUS
Article Abstract:
The relationship between work and leisure is explored by studying the lifestyles and career goals of four different types of hotel workers on the Hawaiian islands. The four types are new immigrants, local employees, those who use hotel employment to pursue adventure and alternative lifestyles, and managers.

The urban context of historical activism: NAACP depression era insurgency and organization-building activity
Article Abstract:
The contextual determinants of two types of NAACP activism between 1930 and 1939 are examined. The activism is analyzed using a diverse set of factors on the sociopolitical context of social movements.
