Retrotopia: critical reason turns primitive
Article Abstract:
The fall of East Europe's Communist governments and the inability of the New Left to produce an alternative are both the result of misguided sociology. Critics of capitalism and Communism focused on the past to develop a new political ideology, emphasizing the peasant lifestyle rather than developing a future-oriented ideology. This political structure drew support away from Communism and collapsed from lack of modern relevance.
