Information about the absent parent as a factor in the well-being of children of single-parent families
Article Abstract:
Children from single-parent households who have adequate knowledge about the absent parent and are made to feel that this parent is worthy of respect fare better than their counterparts who know nothing of the absent parent. This suggests that being in a single-parent household is not in and of itself a recipe for failure., Research shows that the negative traits associated with children from single-parent families are more prevalent in those children with little or no information on the missing parent.
