The third circle: on education and distance learning
Article Abstract:
A three-circle model is utilized in evaluating distance learning and the importance of the actual classroom and university experience. The smallest circle in the model corresponds to measurable competence, the second, larger one corresponds to competence, and the third, with the things that are linked with a real college/university experience that are difficult to measure. As evaluated, college-educated individuals are believed to be less apt to be authoritarian and dogmatic and are bound to be more flexible. Involvement in the campus community is also likely to make individuals believe in the importance of education.

Faulty assumptions: A comment on Blanton, Jaccard, Gonzales, and Christie
Article Abstract:
The assertion by H. Blanton, J. Jaccard, P. Gonzales and C. Christie that the Implicit Association Test (IAT) imposes a model portraying relative preferences as the additive difference between single attitudes is examined. The assumption is misplaced since like other experimental paradigms, IAT contrasts performance between interdependent conditions that cannot be broken into component parts.

Temporal distance and ease of retrieval
Article Abstract:
The present research illustrates Construal Level Theory, which states that pro-arguments (pros) constitute high-level construals and counter-arguments (cons) low-level construals. The findings show that mere temporal distance to the action helps people come up with pros and cons about it and the ease with which people retrieve these, influences their attitude about distance.
