Dehydration, cramping and exertional rhabdomyolysis: A case report with suggestions for recovery

Article Abstract:

A case of severe dehydration, muscle cramping and rhabdomyolysis in a high school football player is presented and a suggested program for gradual return to play is described. It is found that there exists no reports of exertional rhabdomyolysis in an adolescent football player and the gradual return play program is necessary to prevent relapse of exertional heat illness or rhabdomyolysis.
