Staying power

Boats that were designed in the 1970s or the 1980s or even more years back are still being built because of their enduring qualities and staying power. Some boats that have stood the test of the time include Valiant 40/42 whose owners have logged in excess of 3 million ocean miles, Catalina 36 famous for moderate-displacement hull, Flying Scot and Laser.

A cruising survey results of Caribbean 1500 fleet sailing from Virginia to British Virgin Islands completed by 1500 participants is presented. The results could be used as a help guidance to turn a potentially dangerous situation into a manageable inconvenience.
