Many East Coast ski areas are developing special playgrounds called terrain gardens. These terrain gardens feature sculpted bumps and snow whales that allow skiers and snowboarders to practice jumping and other techniques. A guide to several terrain gardens is given.

The men who slide down Everest

Article Abstract:

The accomplishments of three men who skied Mt. Everest are compared. Yuichiro Miura set a world ski-altitude record of 26,516 feet on May 6, 1977. On May 24, 1996, Hans Kammerlander became the first person to ski from the Everest summit.
