A deer hunter recalls a trip he took in mid-November when the first snow of the season fell. He saw a great many deer on the trip. He describes the effect that snow has on a deer's perception of its terrain.

White-tail deer follow regular habits and are best hunted in the protected area they instinctively seek. They are naturally curious and their senses of hearing and smell are better than their vision.
