The big LEOs reach for revenue

Article Abstract:

Big LEOs, or companies providing or planning to provide satellite services through their constellations of low-Earth-orbit satellites, are racing to take their concept to the marketplace. While Iridium LLC is ahead of its competitors, its rivals are betting on their respective business models to overcome Iridium's competitors. However, there are similarities in the business models of all Big LEOs, such as agreements with ground-based wireless providers. Big LEOs also share the same resolute drive to disprove critics, who say the ventures are faced with huge obstacles such as financing and foreign regulations.
