Capable Chileans
Article Abstract:
Astilleros y Servicios Naveles SA (Asenav) delivered in Feb 1999 the Skandi Stord, the first modern anchor handling tug/supply vessel (AHTS) constructed in South America. The delivery of Skandi Stord and earlier newbuildings contracts proved Asenav's capability in delivering good quality, highly modern vessels at a competitive price. The Skandi Stord, built based on Kvaerner (KMAR 404) at Asenav's shipyard in Valvidia, Chile, features a pair of 5,444kW Wartsila main diesel engines; and two 2,400KVA shaft generators and three Caterpillar gensets for power generation onboard.
