Focus on conversion
Article Abstract:
Several Polish repair yards are profiting from conversion projects ranging from drydocking, upgrading, to conversion of cargo vessels into ferries. Gdansk Shiprepair Yard is among those that has profited from the scheme. It recently signs a $12 million upgrading contract with Danish ferry operator DFDS. Meanwhile, Grypia Shiprepair Yard is financially reinforcing its conversion projects initially via a joint stock company prior to privatisation.
