Singapore: from crash-bash to sophisticated leader
Article Abstract:
The evolution of Singapore's shipyard industry from the crash-bash years to the present is traced by Keppel Corp Ltd's director for Europe Neville Watson. Watson says Singapore's shipyard industry has matured in recent years with greater sophistication and a broader balance of workloads. Its leadership, however, is threatened by other Asian countries, although Singapore will still be unchallenged during the five-year gestation period for a new ship repair entrant.
