Increased freedom

Article Abstract:

Effective delegation of power will motivate individuals and improve organisational efficiency. Managers should determine objectives but delegate responsibility for achieving them. Parkinson's Law

Article Abstract:

Companies very often find that, as observed by historian Northcote Parkinson in the 1960s, people make work for each other and people often look to multiply subordinates, rather than rivals. Managers under pressure will generally employ more people, thus increasing the workload instead of reducing it. In many cases, people feel overburdened, but they are in fact mostly only doing work which they have created for each other.
