Irish smoking ban costs pub sector pound 80 m in seven months

A research on the influence of the smoking ban in public places imposed by Irish government has revealed that the country's pubs have had a loss of a total f 7.3% of turnover in the month of April. Also the industry has experienced severe loss in the seven months since the imposition.

Jowell begins licensing reform countdown

Article Abstract:

The British cultural secretary, Tessa Jowell has published key guidance on the new licensing law. The law gives more choice to the public while giving more powers to the authorities to deal with badly run premises and the transitional period is set on February 7, 2005.
