Doubts and uncertainties slow NASA's schedule

Article Abstract:

NASA's jet propulsion laboratory in Pasadena has delayed the projected launch date for the Europa project to explore one of Jupiter's moons from November 2003 to January 2006. The move has prompted speculations about the effect of funding cutbacks within the agency.

Astronomers urge NASA not to cut corners on Hubble successor

Article Abstract:

The James Webb Telescope may lose its Mid-Ifrared Instrument (MIRI) in NASA's rush to keep the next-generation space telescope on time and within budget. MIRI would enable the telescope to observe infrared wavelengths up to 28 micrometres, and its loss would be a blow to future astronomical and astrophysical research.

Shuttle reports for duty...despite the risks

Article Abstract:

Discovery, one of the NASA's space shuttle, has its parts redesigned and is set for launch from Kennedy Space Center in Florida between 15 May 2005 and 3 June 2005 to the International Space Station. Engineers even though changed some methods of applying the foam, they still cannot guarantee about a safe re-entry.
