Plasma membrane phosphoinositide organization by protein electrostatics

Article Abstract:

The phospholipids in the cytoplasmic leaflet of the plasma membrane is the source of three second messengers which activate many ion channel and enzymes and are involved in both endocytosis and exocytosis and anchors proteins to the membrane through several structured domains. It is observed that membrane proteins concentrate Phosphatidylinositol 4,5 bisphosphate (PIPsub2) in response to local increases in intracellular calcium concentration to interact with other biologically important molecules.

A synthetic enamel for rapid tooth repair

Article Abstract:

A dental paste of synthetic enamel that rapidly and seamlessly repairs early caries lesions by nanocrystalline growth with minimum wastage of the natural enamel is described. A white crystalline paste of modified hydroxyapatite, which chemically and structurally resembled natural enamel, was prepared and it was used to repair an early caries lesion in a lower premolar tooth.
