Bronze from Ban Chiang, Thailand: a view from the laboratory

Article Abstract:

Research is presented on bronze artifacts from Thailand's Bronze Age, dating back to the first half of 2000 BC. The artifacts show advanced metallurgical techniques, and appraisals of hardness, color and alloying elements are given.

The Celts and urbanization: the enduring puzzle of the oppida

Article Abstract:

Many oppidan produced raw iron, finished iron and steel articles that were highly regarded in Rome for their quality. The growth and change during iron age settlements, life in the oppida are described.

What in the world?: a Celtic helmet?

Article Abstract:

A laborer on the estate of an M.de Vaugelin discovered the helmet. The Celtic helmets martial appearance, design, composition and its interiors are discussed.
