Article Abstract:

The Mashantucket Pequot Native Americans have their history portrayed at a new museum in eastern Connecticut. The Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center includes auditoriums, exhibit halls, libraries, and archaeological research facilities. Before the arrival of European colonists, the Pequot Nation was one of the most powerful in the northeast US, basing their wealth on the manufacture of wampum.
