A saltbox reborn

Article Abstract:

The second house reassembled by H.P. Broom-Housewright Inc at Stone Post Road in Lyme, CN, is a house constructed in Salem in 1753 and later converted into a hostelry. It took the Housewright crew a month to tear down the structure and about a year and a half to reconstruct it in Lyme, CN.

Hill-Stead Museum

Article Abstract:

The Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington, CT, boasts of French Impressionist works, decorative antiques and Chinese porcelains. The museum was Theodate Pope Riddle's first major architectural project. The collections displayed in the museum belong to Mr and Mrs Alfred Atmore Pope.

Seasoned saltbox

Article Abstract:

Theodate Pope Riddle's first hands-on renovation of a saltbox house is located in Farmington, CT. The house was bought by a Hartford, CT, surgeon in 1979. The design of the house shows the owner's love of gardening.
