After a fashion

Article Abstract:

Men's wear designer Andrew Fezza's new Manhattan office and showrooms reflect his design approach of integrating tradition and innovation using a variety of textures inneutral colors. The spaces project both simplicity and elegance without upstaging the designer's graments on display. Interior designer Vicente Wolf set out to achieve Fezza's requirements by creating a strong yet subdued atmosphere starting from the dim yet dramatic foyer. Meanwhile, the finishes and fabrics used provide a residential quality to the area. The main suite features a flexible arrangement that can be altered as needed.

Street-wise metaphors

Article Abstract:

Much of the Victorian cityscape of Glasgow remains, set out in a grid system reminiscent of US cities. The city has seen its population fall from more than a million in 1939 to 800,000 in 1993. New buildings have sprung up in the 1980's and 90's but they blend in with the original Victorian architecture. Glasgow is now known as a city which has a successful service base rather than the heavy industry on which it was based.
