Blennerhassett: an enchanted island holiday

Article Abstract:

Irish aristocrat Harman Blennerhassett and wife Margaret built a mansion in the middle of the Ohio River in 1797. The mansion was eventually sold at auction. In 1980, Blennerhassett was declared a national park. The structure was rebuilt in 1984 as ordered by the Blennerhassett Historical Park Commission.

The point at Christmas

Article Abstract:

Point Place is an 18th century house which was originally a small farmhouse. In 1740, the New England Hopkins family bought the property to serve as base for its expanding shipping and agriculture businesses. Bob Arnold, an interior designer, bought the property for his collectibles in 1974.

The Dickson-Williams mansion

Article Abstract:

The Dickson-Williams mansion was built by William Dickson, a wealthy businessman, for his daughter in 1815. The 17-room brick house, which was patterned after an Irish country seat, is now known as one of the finest in eastern Tennessee.
