A sure thing - or a certain risk?

Article Abstract:

There are now many different 'guaranteed return' stock market products available in the UK. These products seem increasingly attractive as building society interest rates on savings accounts remain low. Indeed, they attracted investment of an estimated 2.5 billion pounds sterling in 1996. However, it is vital to do careful research before deciding to invest in a product which claims to offer a guaranteed return. Financial advisers tend to favour Dublin, Ireland,-based capital-protected PEPs, which are tax-efficient and can be classified as a single-company PEP.

It's a long way to San Diego

Article Abstract:

South African news designer Matthys Moss took a Greyhound bus to attend the Society for News Design's 1997 conference in San Diego, CA. Matthys, art director of the award-winning newspaper 'Cape Times,' was only in San Diego for one hour because of the long ride. He was able to get a flight back to Miami, FL, before his return to Cape Town only after he traded in his return tickets, a route which took him to Los Angeles, CA, St Louis, MO, and Nashville, TN.
